I'd like to share some work I've been doing with the artist Rex Dupain over the last year. It's great to work on non advertising images occasionally. The exhibition, if you can get along to it, is at the SYDNEY CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR, Carriageworks - 245 Wilson St. Eveleigh, from 3-6 September.
"Litsa Veldekis is delighted to present The Sand Series, a solo exhibition by Rex Dupain at Photo Sydney, Sydney Contemporary Art Fair. The Sand Series signals an evolution in Dupain’s photographic practice. Working from an extensive archive of beach photographs collected over many years, Dupain carefully cuts and isolates figures from their original contexts. These fragments, once documentary records of real moments, are transformed into components of imagined environments. Arranged within shallow sand formations, they become actors within a newly created landscape."
